Move connected accounts to a new group
Move a social media account that's already connected to Brolly into a different group, keeping all its records.
Add-on — Groups is an optional extra on top of your Brolly plan. If you don't see it in your organisation's Brolly, email support@brolly.com.au or talk to your account manager to enable it.
If you have social media accounts sitting in your Organisation (default) group — or in any other group — you can move them into a new group without disconnecting them or losing any captured records. This is a common step when you first start using groups to separate access.
Before you begin
You'll need Owner permissions in Brolly to move accounts between groups.
Step 1 — Create the destination group
- Go to Settings → Groups.
- Choose Create group, give the group a name, and save it.
See add a group for more detail.
Step 2 — Move the connected account
- Go to Settings → Accounts.
- Find the account you want to move and open its actions menu (⋯).
- Choose the option to move the account to another group, then select the destination group and confirm.
The account — and its full archive of captured records — now belongs to the new group. Capture continues without interruption.
Step 3 — Add people to the new group
Moving an account changes who can see it: only users assigned to the new group will have access. Invite or assign the right team members to the group, making the first one a Group owner so someone can manage it. See roles in Brolly groups.
Who can manage accounts in a group
To connect or manage social media accounts in a group you must:
- be an Owner, or the Group owner of that group, and
- have admin or editor access to the accounts on the social platform itself.
