Exporting a single record
Export one record straight from its detail view when a request only needs a single post or comment.
Sometimes a request comes down to one post — a single deleted comment for an FOI response, or one record to file in your records system. You don't need to build a full export for that: a single record can be exported directly from its detail view.
Export the record
- Go to the Feed and find the record — search and filters will get you there quickly.
- Click the record to open its detail — see viewing the detail of a record.
- From the record's detail, choose the export option.
- Pick your preferred file format from the options shown and generate the export. Formats for single-record exports include PDF and CSV — the export screen shows the options available.
- The generated file appears under Exports → Download, ready to save.
What's in the export
The exported record carries its full captured content along with metadata and capture timestamps, so it stands on its own as an audit-ready copy of what was published — including any edit or deletion history Brolly captured.
When you need more than one record
Single-record export is built for exactly that: one record. If a request covers a set of records — an account over a date range, everything matching a search, a tagged group — use Exports → Create instead, which packages the whole set in one bundle. The full walkthrough is in exporting records for an FOI request, and export file types explains which format to choose.
