Connect a Facebook group to Brolly

Archive the conversations in a Facebook group by adding the Brolly app to the group, then connecting it in Brolly.

If your organisation uses Facebook groups to build community, you can capture and archive those conversations in Brolly. Connecting a group has two parts: authorising the Brolly app inside the Facebook group, then connecting the group in Brolly.

Before you begin

  • You need access to a Facebook profile (not a Facebook page) that is an admin of the group you want to connect.
  • Allow pop-ups in your browser, as Facebook may open a sign-in window.

1. Add the Brolly app to your Facebook group

As a group admin, open the group's settings on Facebook and add Brolly from the group's apps section — search for "Brolly", select it and confirm. Facebook's group settings move around from time to time, so if you can't find the apps section, search Facebook's help for "add an app to a group".

2. Connect the group in Brolly

  1. Log in to Brolly and go to SettingsAccounts.
  2. Select Add accounts and choose a group for the connection (or keep Organisation (default)).
  3. Follow the Facebook connection option — sign in with the admin profile when prompted, and the platform walks you through granting Brolly read-only access.
  4. Select the Facebook group (or groups) you want to archive, then confirm.

The group appears in your SettingsAccounts table, and posts and comments from the group start flowing into your Feed.

If you don't see an option for Facebook groups when adding an account, or the group doesn't appear in the list, contact us at support@brolly.com.au and we'll help you get connected.
