How to do a hard refresh on your browser
A hard refresh forces your browser to load the latest version of a page instead of a cached copy — the key combinations for Windows and Mac are below.
Sometimes your browser doesn't show everything you expect to see in Brolly — a newly connected account, an invited team member, or a menu item you know should be there. This is usually caching: browsers remember (cache) a previous version of a page and show it to you instead of fetching the latest one. It's normal browser behaviour, whether the cache settings come from your IT team or the browser defaults.
The fix is a hard refresh, which tells the browser to ignore its cached copy and load the page fresh.
The key combinations
- Windows (Chrome, Firefox, Edge): hold Ctrl and press F5 — or hold Ctrl + Shift and press R.
- Mac (Chrome, Firefox): hold Cmd + Shift and press R.
That's it — the page reloads from scratch rather than from the cache.
When to reach for it
A hard refresh is a good first step whenever Brolly looks out of date:
- You've connected an account or made a settings change and it isn't showing yet.
- You can't see the Settings tab even though your role should include it.
- Someone else has logged in to Brolly on the same computer and the screen seems to reflect their session rather than yours.
If it doesn't help
A hard refresh only clears the current page's cache. If the problem persists, try logging out, closing the browser entirely and logging back in — or use a private/incognito window. Still stuck? Email support@brolly.com.au and we'll help.
